Low sugar snacks promote healthy teeth

This is the time of year when everyone's thoughts turn to healthy eating. Here at Kelvedon Dental, staff are regularly found eating various salads for lunch as part of our New Year's resolutions.

It is easy to forget that some foods we consider healthy, such as grapes or orange juice, contain relatively high levels of sugar and acid that may cause tooth decay and erosion.

Have you ever considered foods and snacks that are lower in naturally occurring sugars and acids? Why not try carrot and celery sticks, sugar snap peas, peppers and nuts.

Regular examinations and early detection prevent problems escalating into costly treatment.

If you are worried about caries, tooth wear or perhaps wish to discuss your diet, we are here to help.
